Jose Maria De Churtichaga and Cayetana Quadra-Salcedo founded the firm CHURTICHAGA+QUADRA-SALCEDO architects ch+qs in Madrid in 1995. Their work focuses mainly in Public Buildings and have designed City councils, Swimming pools, Libraries, Cultural Centers, Kiosks, Cabins, Great houses, Establishments in the Sahara for petroliferous companies, Boats, Furniture, Books, Typographies ch+qs have won several national and international competitions and Jose’s work has been awarded and published in national and international publications and books. The work of the ch+qs is focused on the intimate relation between physical and unphysical aspects, trying to understand architecture as a sensorial interface, as an atmosphere between the man and the environment. In a deliberate rejection to the specialization, Jose Maria De Churtichaga and Cayetana Quadra-Salcedo believe on “transfusions” between all the creative problems, independently of its nature and climbs. Cayetana studied architecture in Madrid. And has worked in new York with Richard Meier and in Madrid with Estanislao de la Quadra-Salcedo. And with Cooperant in El Salvador in 1994. Cayetana was granted Member of the Board of architects of Madrid 2002-2006.
