Gaurav Malhotra

Deben Moza
Executive Director - Head of Project Management Services, Knight Frank India

The Personal Journey – After his school and junior college from Mumbai, Gaurav moved to the Northern part of India along with his parents and completed his graduation in Civil Engineering from REC Kurukshetra (now NIT). His first professional stint was as a Sales Engineer with Eternit Everest – a Belgian MNC which was marketing the popular Everest brand of corrugated cement sheets. He was looking after the new products initiative by them in the non-asbestos-based flat board applications. After 3.5 years with them, he got a chance to work with General Electric in their Advanced Materials group (GE Plastics). Being with one of the global leaders in the world added a lot of structure and process orientation to his approach and he had exposure in both the structured products and engineering polymers division. He worked for 5 years with that group and appreciates the chance to work with leaders who contributed to his professional development. After that, he took a bold step and changed the industry as well as his location to work with Kohler. They were starting the India operations and he started his first handling the Western region and then the hospitality segment sales and then total Institutional sales with the company. It was a stint that got him close to the bathroom industry and the key stakeholders of the it. His next large stint was with the MASCO group when he was the Sales and Product Management head for Delta Faucets – again a start-up in India. This stint offered by him strong learning in driving efficiencies and in working with slightly lower investments and yet driving output. After 5 years in Delta, he was given the responsibility to head their bigger business in India with Hansgrohe. This was a dream fulfilled of heading a reasonably sized business unit. The product, the brand and the passion that exists in the team globally is something he highly cherishes and hopes to contribute strongly to the India journey. Gaurav says, “It looks like that we are on the right path.”

The Journey (with Company) – As per Gaurav, “The journey in the last couple of years with Hansgrohe has been very rewarding with great emphasis on improving the brand visibility, building trust with our channel partners, getting more engaged with key stakeholders like the architects and developers but most of all building a stronger more consistent and more successful organisation. The results are already showing as we have doubled our top line  in India while making substantial improvements in our bottom line as well. The organisation is poised for strong growth in the years to come.”
